Kids do well if they can.

I have focused my career and education towards helping children and families to understand mental health and how to become the best person they can be. So what began my journey to becoming a counselor? During my time at college, I was a counselor for the Cleveland Clinic Summer Treatment Program which focused on children with ADHD and Autism disorders. After that, I began working for a mental health agency as a case worker in homes. While I loved doing case management l, I was always wanting to do more for my clients. Since receiving my licensure, I have worked with children, families, and communities to improve mental health awareness and education.

One of the main reasons why I love counseling children is to see them become successful members of their community. Many times when I first begin meeting with my clients, they often feel that they can never be successful or lead happy lives. I love seeing how these children change over time into happier people. As the children begin their change, their families tend to become happier too, because they are less stressed and worried about their children. For me, I love seeing how communities improve by adding even just one positive support system.

In working with children and their families, trust is my number one priority. I always tell the people I work with that I will always be honest about the counseling process and I hope that you are honest with me in return. By setting these standards, more families tend to be more open with me about the difficulties that they are experiencing so that I can help to the best of my ability.

I hope you give me the opportunity to help your child and family!
